I. The organisation is headed by the Commissioner who is also a Food (Health) Authority of the State and it’s office is at Mumbai. There are 7 divisional offices in the State. The division office is headed by Joint. Commissioner who is also Local Authority under the Act. The division offices are at :

1. Greater Mumbai : having office at Bandra ( Mumbai) and Comprised of limits of Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation .
   
2. Konkan Division : having office at Thane and comprise of following districts –
   1) Thane 2) Raigad 3) Ratnagiri 4) Sindhudurg.
   
   
3. Pune Division : having office at Pune and comprise of following districts –
   1) Pune 2) Satara 3) Sangli 4) Kolhapur 5) Solapur.
   
   
4. Nashik Division : having office at Nashik & comprise of districts-
   1)Nashik 2) Dhule 3) Nandurbar 4) Jalgaon 5) Ahemadnagar.
   
   
5. Aurangabad Division : having office at Aurangabad & comprise of districts-
   1) Aurangabad 2) Nanded 3) Parbhani 4) Hingoli 5) Jalna
   6) Beed 7) Latur 8) Osmanabad.
   
   
6. Amaravati Division : having its office at Amaravati and comprise of districts-
   1) Amaravati 2) Akola 3) Washim 4) Yeotmal 5) Buldhana.
   
   
7. Nagpur Division : having its office at Nagpur and which is also sub capital of
   the state, a division is comprised of districts –
   1)Nagpur 2)Wardha 3) Bhandara 4) Gondia 5)Chandrapur
   6) Gadchiroli.
   

II .The Maharashtra State is comprised of total 35 districts. The organisation have offices at each district except the newly created districts
(1) Nandurbar (2) Hingoli (3) Washim and (4) Gondia .

III.  Each district is headed by an Assistant Commissioner .
Food Inspectors are appointed at district places, divisional places and head office, who work under the supervision of Supervisor (Food).
The Supervisor (Food) is also licensing authority for the area and is also Local (Health) Authority .

IV. At each division place Assistant Commissioner (Food) is posted to supervise the enforcement work in the concerned division and who is also Local (Health) Authority for the district of the divisional place .Each office in the State is supported by Ministerial staff .
